Yasukuni Shrine
Yasukuni Shrine is a Shinto shrine in Chiyoda, Tokyo.
It commemorates anyone who had died in service of the Empire of Japan i.e. soldiers, generals etc.
It has been often criticized by China, South Korea, and Taiwan as being revisionist and unapologetic about the events of World War II. Japanese politicians have caused considerable controversy by visiting Yasukuni during the last years.
Within the shrine, there is also a beautiful Japanese garden.
